Seven people shot on street in Baltimore

Police say one died but they had no details of what started the violence

Authorities say seven people have been shot, at least one fatally, in Baltimore.

Police department spokeswoman Chakia Fennoy said authorities received a call shortly after 5pm on Sunday reporting that people had been shot.

Ms Fennoy said one of the victims died but she had no information about the conditions of the others, or on what started the shootings.

The tragedy occurred on a street in the western part of the city.

Local media reports said the shooting happened while people were gathered for a barbecue.
