The President of Turkey, Recep Tayyip Erdogan, attended the opening of the Moscow International Aviation and Space Salon (MAKS) as a guest of Russian President Vladimir Putin. The air show, at Zhukovsky International Airport, continues until September 1 and brings together Russian and foreign aviation experts, manufacturers and businessmen from various parts of the world. "We talked about co-operation on the Su-35" fighter jet and "about possible work even on the new Su-57 plane", said Mr Putin, after he and Mr Erdogan inspected the cockpit of the fifth-generation warplane. Mr Erdogan said Turkey wants to continue “solidarity in many areas of defence industry” with Russia, including in fighter jets, and “we’ll develop rapidly”. When Mr Erdogan inquired during the tour whether the Su-57 is available to buy, a smiling Mr Putin said, "You can buy."
