A Kuwaiti model is facing arrest in the UK after she failed to appear in court on a charge of assaulting her former husband. Rawan Bin Hussain, 23, a social media influencer with five million followers on Instagram, was accused of assaulting Libyan businessman Mohammed Youssef Migariaf in London’s Hyde Park in June. She is also accused of criminal damage. The mother-of-one was due to appear in Westminster Magistrates Court but failed to attend on Thursday. The court subsequently issued a warrant for the 23-year-old’s arrest. Bin Hussain, who has a law degree from King’s College London and was working towards getting her pilot’s licence, said on Instagram in July that she would be divorcing her husband. She told her followers: “Today I’m here to explain this without the filter and I’m hoping people, especially Middle Easterners who still follow the worst traditional rules, would understand me. “I am very proud to say I am divorcing my husband.” She added: “If this will make me ‘Less of a human being,’ then that’s totally fine! I am super excited for my new chapter. “And I can’t wait to start.” In an interview in 2018, Bin Hussain said she was dubbed the "Brooke Shields of Kuwait" by a magazine while living in Los Angeles.
