Three of Hong Kong's high-profile pro-democracy leaders were jailed on Thursday for their role in the Umbrella Movement that took the city by storm in 2014.
The three men - Joshua Wong, Alex Chow and Nathan Law, Hong Kong's youngest democratically elected lawmaker - were jailed for six, seven and eight months respectively.
An appeals court in Hong Kong raised their previous non-custodial sentences, and jailed them for "unlawful assembly" during three months of street protests in 2014 that brought the city to a standstill.
The former British colony, which last month celebrated the 20th anniversary of its return to Chinese rule, was gridlocked by nearly three months of street protests in 2014's However, the Umbrella Movement failed to convince China to allow full democracy in the city of 7.3 million.
Activists slammed Thursday's decision as evidence that Beijing was tightening its grip on the semi-autonomous city.

- Be professional and patient. Always be professional with whoever you are interacting with throughout your search process, this will be remembered. You need to be patient, dedicated and not give up on your search. Candidates need to make sure they are following up appropriately for roles they have applied.

WHAT IS GRAPHENE?
It was discovered in 2004, when Russian-born Manchester scientists Andrei Geim and Kostya Novoselov were experimenting with sticky tape and graphite, the material used as lead in pencils.
Placing the tape on the graphite and peeling it, they managed to rip off thin flakes of carbon. In the beginning they got flakes consisting of many layers of graphene. But when they repeated the process many times, the flakes got thinner.
By separating the graphite fragments repeatedly, they managed to create flakes that were just one atom thick. Their experiment led to graphene being isolated for the very first time.
In 2010, Geim and Novoselov were awarded the Nobel Prize for Physics.
