On his first visit to Darfur since the International Criminal Court issued an international warrant for his arrest, he expressed defiance by warning peacekeepers and aid groups to obey Sudanese law or face expulsion.

Al Bashir appears in court in the capital Khartoum on August 31, 2019 to face charges of illegal acquisition and use of foreign funds. Judge Al Sadiq Abdelrahman said authorities seized €6.9 million, $351,770 and 5.7 million Sudanese pounds from Bashir’s home that he had acquired and used illegally.
