Zakat Fund gives aid to 16 students

The Zakat Fund has approved Dh2.6 million in scholarships for 16 students to continue their university studies.

Launched in 2010, the Rabi Zidni Ilman or Allah, Increase My Knowledge programme aims to help disadvantaged students pursue higher education, said Abdullah Al Muhairi, secretary general of the Zakat Fund.

The Zakat Fund invites applications at the end of each academic year through various media channels.

Students receive funding for the duration of their university studies if they maintain a high level of academic excellence.
