A postmortem examination on Sunday showed Mr Al Amri had died of natural causes. He was reported missing on Saturday afternoon and was found dead hours later.

"There were no signs of any struggle or injury to the body," police said. "Blood tests showed there were no signs of drugs or poisons in his system, nor was there any carbon monoxide poisoning in the body."

His brother, Ayda Mabkhoot Al Amri, a community policeman with the Wagan police, said the family was devastated. Another relative, who asked not to be named, said Mr Al Amri had a medical condition, but declined to elaborate.

"When he felt tired or ill he would often lay down in the back seat of the car," the family member said.

Police had closed off the street near the park, suspecting that Mr Al Amri had been murdered.
