Hundreds of yogis welcomed the dawn of a new day at Skydive Dubai on Saturday, to mark the second day of the venue’s 30 Day Fitness Challenge weekend carnival. International yoga guru Suneel Singh led the sun salutations in front of the spectacular backdrop of Dubai Marina from the skydiving centre’s runway. The site also hosted a ‘Pump It’ challenge for skateboarders, BMXers and youngsters on scooters to navigate a course, hosted by XDubai sponsored athlete and professional BMX cyclist Ola Selsjord. Ola has already made a big impact on the BMX scene with his technical riding and has won a small army of fans thanks to his YouTube channel where he displays his latest tricks. Those taking part in the XDubai competition were vying for prizes in an array of categories and age groups. Next up for the month long Dubai Fitness Challenge is the X3 Junior Triathlon presented by Lacnor, scheduled for the penultimate day of the Dubai Fitness Challenge on Friday, November 17. The race is taking place between 6am-10am on Kite Beach, and designed for young people aged 4-16. The event will see young athletes compete in one of six age categories and course lengths across swimming, cycling and running disciplines. ________________ Read more: Portrait of a Nation: Air traffic controller has soaring ambitions for Spartan Race Watch: XDubai skatepark becoming hit with girls inspired by Instagram stars Sandboarding videos used to throw spotlight on Dubai adventure sports Easing into a fitness regime with the help of a hammock ________________ “XDubai is a strong supporter of community sports and fitness and the addition of these three new events during the inaugural Dubai Fitness Challenge is testament to our commitment to further bolster Dubai’s growing health and fitness culture,” said Mohammed Javad, general manager of XDubai. “Not only do these events complement what is a growing calendar of community events hosted by XDubai, they also encourage the growth of new and exciting sports such as skateboarding and BMX within the community.” To register for the triathlon, go online at http://xdubai.com.
