ABU DHABI // Works of art, glitzy jewellery and exclusive furniture will be among the items on offer when the World Luxury Expo arrives in Abu Dhabi this month.
The invitation-only event provides a platform for world-leading companies to showcase their luxury goods to wealthy customers.
Following on from two previous events, the first at Burj Al Arab in Dubai in January and a second at the Ritz-Carlton in Riyadh in February, the third expo will take place at the Emirates Palace hotel from September 27 to 29.
Items for sale will include fine art, high-end jewellery and fashion, hand-crafted timepieces, designer furniture and table settings, cars, fine dining, private aviation and luxury travel.
Only wealthy clients from the GCC will be invited.
Among the companies taking part are Porsche, which will offer its first Panamera Executive model, and Gold & Co of London, which will showcase a 24 carat gold-plated bronze model of an Arabian stallion, yours for Dh600,000.
According to Knight Frank's Wealth Report 2013, the number of high-net worth individuals in the UAE with a fortune of at least Dh110 million will double in the next decade. After Abu Dhabi, the expo will head to Doha from November 14-16. It will be an annual event in the capital.
