DUBAI // A woman had 2,400 tablets of prescription medicine in her luggage when she arrived at Dubai International Airport, a court has been told.
At 6am on August 28 this year, Customs officers found the tablets hidden in clothing in luggage belonging to the Indian woman, 33, the court heard.
“When I asked her about them, she said one of her relatives living in Dubai is sick and asked her to bring him the medicine,” said an Emirati inspector, 27.
An Indian, 64, who works for Dubai Municipality is accused of aiding and abetting the woman. Neither were in court to enter pleas.
The next hearing is scheduled for December 12 at the Dubai Criminal Court.
