Woman sexually assaulted by husband's driving instructor

Horrified victim woke up to find man in her bedroom

A married woman woke up to find her husband’s driving instructor lying next to her in bed, a court has heard.

The 32-year-old Indian nurse screamed for help as the defendant allegedly tried to rape her.

The incident happened on July 27 this year after the man appeared on the doorstep of the couple's home at 3.30am.

The 46-year-old offered the husband the chance to borrow his car before sneaking into their home once he left.

“He [the defendant] was teaching me to drive and that night he arrived on my doorstep and offered me the chance to practice driving his car,” the husband told Dubai Criminal Court.

“I took the car and left, but didn’t think he would sneak into my house. I didn’t let him in.”

“I asked him how he got into my house and he said my husband let him,” said the nurse, who was able to fight off the attacker. “He tried to rape me”.

Following the incident, the couple called police who arrested the defendant. The man claimed he had just walked into the pair’s bedroom and tried to wake up the woman.

He denied sexual assault and the hearing was adjourned until October 29.
