DUBAI // A man snatched a woman’s handbag after pulling her hair from behind as she walked through a car park at almost midnight, a court has heard.
The incident happened on December 20 last year in Al Muraqqabat. The woman, whose nationality and age were not mentioned in court, fell to the ground and screamed when she was attacked, alerting the car park’s security guard.
“I headed to where the screams came from and saw the woman on the ground and a man running,” said the Afghan guard, 30. “She shouted that he took her bag. I chased him and managed to catch him.”

Police said the bag contained makeu-p and the woman’s passport. In Dubai Criminal Court, the Pakistani, 20, denied a charge of forceful theft.
A verdict is expected on March 14.
