UAQ food inspectors find 920 violations in 2015

During 2015, UAQ Municipality’s public health department carried out 3,460 inspections and found that 920 places were at fault, 60 of which were related to food issues.

In 2015, UAQ Municipality’s public health department carried out 3,460 inspections and found 920 violations, 60 of which were related to food issues.

The department's inspections involved analysing food in laboratories to make sure it was safe for human consumption, reported Al Ittihad, the Arabic language sister newspaper of The National.

A municipality spokesman said the majority of violations were for non-renewal of workers’ health cards, unclean premises, staff not wearing uniforms and selling of expired products.
