Police reduced speed limits on motorways as fog enveloped almost the entire UAE on Monday.
Only the northern and eastern edge of the country was spared from the early morning bad weather.
Drivers were warned not to exceed 80 kilometres per hour on several major roads across the country as visibility fell below 1,000 metres.

The fog is expected to clear outf by 11am, leading to a fair to partly cloudy afternoon and evening.
Temperatures will reach a maximum of 27°C along the coast and 29°C inland.
Winds will be light to moderate while the sea will be slight in the Arabian Gulf and in Oman sea.
Humidity will rise again overnight, raising the risk of fog striking again early on Tuesday.
The inclement weather would ease by Wednesday morning, according to forecasters.
