Abu Dhabi and Dubai woke up to dark skies on Thursday, with lightning and rain lashing the country once again after thunderstorms on Wednesday. Unstable weather has affected the country all week with parts of UAE being hit by hail earlier this week. And the wet conditions were present again on Thursday as commuters were met by water-covered roads and downpours making driving treacherous. Dubai Police tweeted urging drivers to slow down on the roads and drive with caution. Lightning was flashing over the capital before daybreak and the storm was still going after 8am. The National Centre of Meteorology radar showed a band of rain stretching across emirate of Abu Dhabi with rain also falling in the northern emirates. Winds meanwhile are predicted to reach 35kmh. The country is expected to get more rain during the day, especially in the internal areas, the National Center of Meteorology has predicted. Though the country saw highs of 31°C on Wednesday, temperatures will drop again on Thursday. Temperatures will range between 17°C and 25°C along the coast, 18°C to 26°C inland and 9°C to 18°C in the mountains. Motorists are warned that fog may affect several areas on Friday morning. Residents across the UAE took to social media to share what has been a regular sight during the past week.
