Thick fog across the country has led to a warning from forecasters about reduced visibility, as low as 1 kilometre in some areas. Patches of mist and fog have been reported over much of the country, particularly in Madinat Zayed, Liwa and other south-western areas of greater Abu Dhabi. Residents can expect a hot and humid day with hazy skies, turning mild by the evening. There will be cloud with possible rain forecast for Al Ain and Fujairah, and moderate to fresh winds keeping temperatures cool, according to the National Centre of Meteorology and Seismology. Humidity will increase overnight leading to more fog on Monday morning. Motorists are advised to leave extra time for the morning drive to work and to travel with caution. On Saturday night, areas including Al Shuwaib in the north-easternmost part of Abu Dhabi experienced heavy rain and lightning. Temperatures on Sunday will range between 24°C and 36°C along the coast and between 20°C and 40°C inland. Conditions will be moderate in the Arabian Gulf and slight to moderate in the Sea of Oman. newsdesk@thenational.ae
