UAE weather: Rain and high winds on the way

The National Centre of Meteorology and Seismology (NCMS) has warned of rain and high winds causing poor visibility and rough seas over the coming days.

The strong winds whipped up sand and dust across many parts of the country until at least mid morning on Wednesday.

The NCMS said the wind would subside over the next three days, although it would be “hazy and partly cloudy at times over some areas”. Clouds will increase over coastal, northern and island areas with a chance of rainfall.

The dust and haze will reduce visibility, especially more exposed regions.

Thursday has a good chance of scattered rain over coastal areas with fresh northerly winds and a substantial drop in temperatures causing rough seas.

Friday will see rough seas and cool evening temperatures.
