DUBAI // With temperatures in the country starting to rise, Dubai police cautioned motorists to exercise utmost precaution before taking to the roads.

“Check your vehicles every time you go on a trip. Do not drive if the vehicle is not suitable to be driven on the road,” Dubai police said on Twitter.

The highest temperature recorded in the UAE on Tuesday was 43°C, in Hamim in Abu Dhabi emirate, while overall weather remained normal this morning.

As summer approaches, motorists must take extra care of their vehicles, particularly tyres, to avoid bursts due to excessive heat and engines catching fire.

Slight fog formation was reported over Al Maktoum International Airport early in the day, the National Centre for Meteorology and Seismology said, but no delays or disruptions were reported.
