ABU DHABI // When the lowest temperature recorded in the country on Wednesday morning is a comfortable 17.5°C – and quickly climbing – you know it is going to be a scorcher throughout the rest of the day.
Highs along the coast are expected to reach between 38°C and 41°C. The interior regions will be even hotter, with highs between 42°C and 45°C. The mountain areas to the north will offer the most pleasant temperatures, peaking between 27°C and 32°C.
The highest temperature recorded across the country on Tuesday was 44.9°C in Mezaira in Al Dhafra, near the Saudi Arabian border, at 2.30pm.
The highs will be accompanied by light to moderate winds, generally blowing between 15kph and 25kph across the country. There will be a slight haze, but no clouds are forecast.
Conditions will be “slight to moderate” in the Arabian Gulf and Sea of Oman, according to the National Centre of Meteorology and Seismology.
