DUBAI // Motorists are being warned to drive carefully as strong winds kick up dust, reducing visibility to less than 2 kilometres.
Conditions will be hazy on Sunday with temperatures becoming very hot later in the day, hitting highs of 47°C along the coast and 49°C inland.
Moderate to fresh winds will be strong at times, particularly over the sea and exposed areas of the country, causing blowing dust and haze, according to the National Centre for Meteorology and Seismology.
Conditions will be made more uncomfortable with humidity expected to rise up to 85 per cent.
Waters will be rough in the Sea of Oman and Arabian Gulf.
Similar conditions are expected to persist into Tuesday with forecasters predicting “rainy towering clouds” over the southern and eastern areas of the country.
