ABU DHABI // Strong winds are expected to last into Tuesday as forecasters issued warnings of poor visibility and rough seas across the country.
Winds of up to 40kph causing blowing dust have reduced visibility as low as 800 metres inland.
Forecasters warned of very rough seas in the Arabian Gulf where wave heights will reach 1.5 metres with similar conditions expected in the Oman sea.
Temperatures will peak at 47°C and drop to 24°C inland on Monday with highs of 41°C and lows of 25°C expected along the coast.
Blustery conditions will peter out by Wednesday but it will remain hazy due to blowing dust.
The highest temperature recorded in the country on Sunday was 47.3°C in Um Azimul at 3.15pm. The lowest temperature recorded on Monday morning was 19.3°C in Raknah, Al Ain at 5.15am.
