UAE weather: fog descends on Dubai prompting a visibility warning

DUBAI // Fog descended on the city overnight with forecasters warning of visibility as low as 500 metres in some areas on Tuesday morning.

Mist was reported in Jebel Ali, the western region of Abu Dhabi and Al Maktoum International Airport.

More fog is expected throughout the week with humidity levels peaking at 95 per cent along the coast.

Forecasters expect a hot day otherwise with temperatures as high as at 42°C inland but dropping to 18°C in the evening.

Temperatures across the rest of the country will range between 22°C and 38°C along the coast and 19°C to 34°C in the mountains.

Humidity will increase again overnight leading to more fog in coastal areas and inland on Wednesday morning.

Motorists are advised to factor in extra time to their morning commutes to account for delays.

Seas will be moderate in the Sea of Oman but will turn rough in the Arabian Gulf.
