UAE weather: Dust clouds cause low visibility

DUBAI // Dust clouds are forecast across much of the country today with forecasters warning against low visibility.

The National Centre of Meteorology and Seismology has urged motorists travelling along highways and exposed areas to drive carefully due to decreased visibility caused by southerly winds blowing dust.

The eastern and southern parts of the country will continue to be cloudy and dusty through Thursday with a small chance of rain forecast.

On Tuesday, heavy rain fell in Al Ain with light showers falling in Fili in Sharjah and Shawka in Ras Al Khaimah.

Temperatures will drop slightly and will feel like 48°C at their height, according to Accuweather.

Local forecasters predict temperatures to range between 30°C and 48°C along the coast and 28°C to 49°C inland.

Tuesday’s highest temperature recorded was 46.9°C in Al Ruwais at 12.15.

Maximum humidity levels are also expected to fall from 90 per cent to 80 per cent.

Seas are expected to be moderate to rough in the Arabian Gulf and Sea of Oman.
