ABU DHABI // The progress of the UAE, its leadership and the Federal National Council is highlighted in a new book by a member of the FNC.
Dr Mohammed bin Ham, from Al Ain, began writing after his election to the council in 2011.
He said his experiences helped influence the 208-page Arabic book, The Wise Leadership, which took a year to write.
Dr bin Ham writes about how the United Nations called on the UAE in September 2000 to offer wise leadership which served its people, regarded their needs highly, and offered them all they needed for development – but writes that the country was already on that path.
“The book is about the wise leadership that led to the UAE becoming an icon and a major point in the international world,” Dr bin Ham said.
There is focus on the leadership’s determination, which enabled it to catch up with the rest of the developed world and progress further at all levels.
The book has been passed to senior Government officials and members of the Ruling Family. It is expected to go on sale next week.
Dr bin Ham holds a master’s degree from Grand Canyon University in the United States, and a doctorate from Kent University in England.
