DUBAI// The signing of an agreement to build the first Arabic-Islamic Mars space probe was attended by Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai.
Under the agreement the UAE Space Agency and the Emirates Institution for Advanced Science and Technology (EIAST) will build the probe, reports government news agency Wam.
EIAST will carry out all stages of the project, which will supervised and funded by the agency over a seven year period.
The agreement was signed at the Mohammed bin Rashid Centre for Government Innovation in Dubai.
