UAE Friday sermon: It is an un-Islamic act to harm neighbours

It is un-Islamic to harm neighbours, such as siding with their enemy and supporting terrorist groups, today’s sermon says.

"Whoever believes in Allah and the Last Day [of Judgment] does not harm his neighbour," Prophet Mohammed once said.

This harm includes conspiring against neighbours – whether people or states – as well as hosting conspirators and harbouring fugitives.

"And this is a denial of values and morals, which requires painful punishment," states the sermon, "because they conspired against secure societies".

Moreover, such wrongdoers meddled in their neighbour’s affairs, spied on them and revealed their secrets, and promoted ideas that affect their stability.

The UAE has always respected its neighbours and worked on strengthening relations between Arabian Gulf countries.

UAE nationals all stand firmly behind their leaders and the decisions they make to avoid what could harm them and their neighbouring states, the sermon says.

The sermon will conclude with a warning to worshippers that whoever objects to decisions or orders "issued by the wise leadership which came in place for the welfare of the country", or announced their objection on social media, will be questioned by the law.

"This is non-negotiable," says the sermon.
