DUBAI // A US$1 million (Dh3.67m) donation to the United Nations World Food Programme from Dubai’s International Humanitarian City has been used to help Syrian refugees.

The funding has allowed the WFP to feed 30,000 people living in refugee camps in Jordan during January as they faced a severe snowstorm.

The donation was part of a UAE fundraising campaign that stemmed from a directive from President Sheikh Khalifa and a follow-up from Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid, Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, to increase the support to those affected by the blizzards.
