UMM AL QUWAIN // Umm Al Quwain Police are searching for a motorist who they say ran over an Emirati woman, then fled.
The motorist ran over the 30-year-old woman in Falaj Al Mualla area on Monday. She was taken to Al Dhaid Hospital to be treated for minor injuries, reported Aletihad, the Arabic-language sister paper of The National.
The police operations room received a report of the incident at 9.10pm on Monday, and a search team was formed, said Maj Mohammed Al Ghafli, chief of Falaj Al Mualla police station.
Maj Al Ghafli urged motorists to drive carefully and warned people against walking on the roadside, especially in areas without lighting.
