A driver was seriously hurt after an accident with another lorry caused him to become trapped in his vehicle at dawn on Monday. The accident happened in Al Amera area along Sheikh Mohammed Bin Zayed Road, said Maj Obeid Al Zaabi, deputy director of Ajman Civil Defence. Civil Defence teams cut and lifted the man out of the lorry using heavy machinery and a crane before he was taken to the nearest hospital. Meanwhile police redirected traffic to avoid further accidents or congestion, Maj Al Zaabi said. Several hours later, in Abu Dhabi, heavy traffic built up on Al Maqta Street in the area between Sas Al Nakhl Village and Al Maqtaa heritage market. Delays were also reported on Khaleej Al Arabi street outbound, causing tailbacks up to the E20 Abu Dhabi – Sweihan — Al Hiyar exit. Rush hour traffic was also spotted in Shakhbout City beginning at Al Ghazal Golf Club up to the intersection with Al Falah. In Mussaffah, very heavy traffic plagued 16th street and the road leading to Safeer Centre. In Dubai, rush hour traffic was reported in the usual areas, such as the Industrial Area, Al Ittihad street, Deira Clocktower area and International City.
