UAE traffic: Commuters in Abu Dhabi and Dubai face heavy congestion

ABU DHABI // Commuters in the capital and across Dubai faced delays on Tuesday as accidents slowed down rush-hour traffic.

Traffic was slow on Khaleej Al Arabi Street in Abu Dhabi, after Mussaffah, after an accident.

Motorists heading to Dubai from Sharjah were delayed by heavy congestion on Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed, Al Ittihad and Sheikh Zayed roads.

In Dubai, an accident on Umm Suqeim Road after the exit for Al Khail Road, towards Sheikh Zayed Road, caused “massive congestion” and tailbacks, @TrafficDXB reported.

On Sheikh Zayed Road, an accident slowed northbound traffic after the Mall of the Emirates.

Another accident caused delays for motorists travelling towards Deira on Al Rebaat Street. Itt took place after the Nad Al Hammar Road junction, causing congestion.

Motorists on Ras Al Khor Road also met delays because of an accident after the Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Road exit towards Dubai.

Usual rush-hour traffic was reported on the Dubai-Al Ain Road towards Dubai, starting at Academic City.
