UAE traffic: Accidents and heavy traffic cause delays in Abu Dhabi

ABU DHABI // Heavy traffic and a few accidents caused delays to motorists in the capital on Monday morning.

An accident on Saada bridge led to major traffic congestion all along the Eastern Mangrove side of the island.

Starting at Sheikh Zayed Bridge and through to Sheikh Zayed Tunnel, cars travelling in both directions experienced severe congestion.

Traffic was also slow on Mussaffah Bridge.

An accident at Al Ghazal Golf Club caused delays in Airport Road, which also affected Sweihan Road.

Traffic movement was also slow on the Khalifa bin Shakhbout Road exit from Khaleej Al Arabi.

The Karamah area, where several schools are located, was busy with pupils who began the new term on Sunday.

In Dubai, police reported congestion in Rebat Street in front of Bel Romaitha Club after a bus broke down. They advised motorists to use an alternative route.
