Motorists were urged to take extra care on Sunday after thick fog covered many parts of the country. Dubai Police stopped heavy goods vehicles from driving on Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Road, towards Abu Dhabi, and Emirates Road due to foggy weather. Officers said saying the move will continue until further notice. Sharjah Police advised motorists to be cautious while driving, due to low visibility caused by the dense fog. “Leave sufficient distances between vehicles, reduce speeds, and make sure to handle the road with caution for the safety of all,” the force wrote on Twitter. Abu Dhabi Police said drivers should watch out for changes to the maximum speed limit if fog forms in the coming days. The speed limit is typically cut from 140kph maximum to 80kph in bad weather.
