Abu Dhabi experienced severe delays on Sunday morning on the Sheikh Zayed Bridge causing traffic to come to a standstill for an hour.
Commuters coming into Abu Dhabi on the E11 from Dubai experienced bumper to bumper traffic starting from the crossing and all the way until after Saada bridge.
Police said that the cause of the delay was an accident that occurred around 8:30 am.
Dubai experienced delays on Airport Road and Rebaat Street. Adding to the delays, a truck caught fire on the Al Ain-Dubai road inbound to Dubai.
Traffic on the E44 Al Khail road towards Abu Dhabi from Business Bay Bridge and from Ras Al khor also experienced delays.
