Ten ambulances donated to Emirates Red Crescent

ABU DHABI // The Emirates Red Crescent has received 10 ambulances donated to the them by Al Tayer Group.

The Dubai-based business had 10 cutaway, or incomplete, Ford vans converted into modern emergency vehicles by a company in Ohio in the US.

Ahmed Al Tayer, director of Al Tayer Group, said the donation was one of the ways the company hoped to make a positive impact on people in need.

“We are pleased to work with the Emirates Red Crescent and contribute these hi-tech ambulances for use in places where they are most required,” he said.

The new ambulances were fitted with advance restraints, head protection, and special airbags designed to offer occupants maximum protection in case of accidents and rollovers.

The vehicles’ interior made use of materials resistant to water, rot, mould and fungus.
