Sharjah to renovate old roads in Kalba

The Sharjah Roads and Transport Authority has announced new projects to develop and replace old roads in Kalba city as well as install a number of road humps and traffic lights.

Helal Al Naqbi, Chairman of the Kalba Municipal Council, said maintenance works in Al Wahda, Amro bin Al Aas and the Corniche have been completed.

The beginning of Corniche road facing existing shops and restaurants by the entrance of Kalba will be redesigned and parking will be redistributed throughout the area so as to ensure the safety of vehicles and their owners and to facilitate traffic flow. Road humps and signals will also be installed.

Mr Al Naqbi said the authority is currently carrying out a comprehensive study to redesign all of Kalba's streets to ensure sufficient parking, reported Al Ittihad, the Arabic language sister paper of The National.
