Sharjah Police impounded 13 cars from reckless drivers caught carrying out dangerous stunts on the emirate’s roads during the Eid Al Adha holiday.
The bodywork and engines of the cars had been modified and not inspected, which is in breach of federal traffic laws.
Police said the drivers were causing a disturbance and noise in residential areas and roads.
Col Ahmed bin Darwish, director of traffic and patrols in Sharjah, said that an ongoing crackdown on offenders in the emirate was under way. He urged drivers to obey the law.
