ABU DHABI // A Dh55 million, 18-month project to improve the roads around the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre has been completed and is open to traffic.
The Department of Transport, a member of the Abu Dhabi Safety and Traffic Solutions Committee, implemented the project.
Work included building a road linked to the existing bridge near the Abu Dhabi Judicial Department, and the introduction of a traffic light to regulate flow from Al Khaleej Al Arabi Street to Adnec from all directions.
The local roads around the embassies area have been widened to accommodate traffic from Adnec, while the road at Adnec’s car parks was expanded to double lanes.
Traffic lights were installed at the junction of Karama Street and Dhafeer Street (31st Street).
The project also involved widening Rabdan Street (29th) and adding a second left-turn lane for vehicles coming from Al Khaleej Al Arabi Road.
