A man died after being hit by a car while crossing a road in Ras Al Khaimah on Sunday. Police said the Asian man, 64, was crossing Sheikh Mohammed Bin Zayed Road near exit 126 from a non-designated area when he was hit by the vehicle. A 27-year-old Emirati was behind the wheels. Brig Ahmad Al Naqbi, director of Traffic and Patrols Department at Ras Al Khaimah Police, said they received a report about the accident at 7.02pm. Police dispatched patrols and an ambulance to the scene but the man died on the spot. Traffic authorities have referred the case to prosecutors. Brig Al Naqbi called on pedestrians to use designated crossing areas and ensure the road is clear before crossing. He reiterated that drivers should focus on the road, follow traffic rules and adhere to speed limits.
