An Emirati was killed and three others sustained various injuries in a collision between two vehicles on Sunday morning in Umm Al Quwain.
According to Major Abdullah Al Falahi, head of Civil Defence Centres in the emirate, a report was received about four Emiratis trapped in the wreckage after a crash involving two vehicles on Al Ittihad Road.
Defence teams and National Ambulance attended and cutting equipment was used to free the people.
The driver of one of the vehicles died on the spot, while another sustained severe injuries and the other two sustained minor injuries.
The three injured people were taken to Sheikh Khalifa General Hospital.
Major Al Falahi urged motorists to stick to the speed limits and keep a safe distance between vehicles to avoid accidents, save lives and ensure the safety of other road users.
