A service for drivers involved in minor accidents is now being offered at an additional 10 Enoc petrol stations in Dubai.
The service, where drivers can report accidents at the petrol stations, began in three locations in August last year but will now be extended to other places including Al Rasheed Street; in Al Mizher area; Al Khail Road nearby exit 44; Arabian Ranches; and Al Khail Road near Al Barsha police station.
Brig Saeed Hamad bin Sulaiman, director of Rashidiya police station, said: "Reporting minor traffic accidents in petrol stations has reduced the number of people visiting police stations. Therefore, a study was conducted to examine the most common roads where minor traffic accidents are reported to expand the service there."
A total of 2,360 minor accidents were reported through petrol stations at the first three locations - on Mohammed bin Zayed Road, Al Khail Road and Sheikh Zayed Road - since the beginning of this year, according to police statistics.
Al Rashidiyah police station trained 58 employees at Enoc petrol stations to help drivers report minor traffic accidents through the Dubai Police smart application.
