ABU DAHBI // Guidelines have been issued for people wishing to decorate their cars to celebrate the 44th National Day on December 2.

Motorists will be able to do so between November 22 and December 6, Abu Dhabi Police said.

Car owners are not allowed to change the colour of their vehicles, post inappropriate phrases on the car body, carry excess passengers or install flags or tint windscreens.

Drivers are also being warned not to disrupt the flow of traffic with stunts or drive recklessly. The police Traffic and Patrols Directorate said it would increase camera and radar monitoring around the time of the celebrations.

Meanwhile, Yas Marina Circuit is hosting a National Day celebration between 2.30pm and 6.30pm on December 2.

Organisers said it will be a fun-filled day of celebrations involving fireworks, zip lines, market stalls, helium balloon performers, Ayala dancing and live entertainment, among other activities.

Entry is free.
