Fujairah Police have announced a 50 per cent discount on traffic fines to mark the UAE's 48th National Day. Motorists who incurred a fine before November 30 will be able to pay their fee at the discounted rate. Their traffic points and vehicle impound fees will also be waived. The discount was ordered by Sheikh Mohammed bin Hamad Al Sharqi, Crown Prince of Fujairah, to bring joy to the emirate's residents ahead of the public holiday. The discount begins on December 2 and runs until February 2 next year. A similar scheme was announced in Sharjah last month. Police said traffic fines incurred in the emirate will be reduced by half for three months, from October 22 to January 31.
