Emirati, 18, killed in RAK road accident



An 18-year old Emirati was killed after his vehicle veered off the road and flipped over on Saturday night in Ras Al Khaimah.

Lieutenant Colonel Ahmed Al Naqbi, acting director of traffic and patrols department at RAK Police, said A A S was driving from Al Manaie to Hatta when his car suddenly left the road. He was accompanied by two passengers, N K A, 15, and H S M, 17, both Emiratis.

Police cars, ambulance and rescue teams were dispatched to the scene and took the driver to the nearest hospital but he died of injuries sustained in the crash, Lt Col Al Naqbi said, adding that the two passengers suffered minor injuries.

Lt Col Al Naqbi sent his condolences to the deceased man’s family and urged motorists to observe speed limits, be vigilant and avoid distracted driving.
