Motorist faced delays this morning after an emergency helicopter landed on Sheikh Zayed Road at Downtown Jebel Ali to airlift a pedestrian who was involved in an accident with a pick-up truck.
Dubai Police said the accident took place at 7.20am on the Dubai-bound carriageway when the driver of the truck, a Bangladeshi, collided with a pedestrian who was severely injured.
Onlookers reported seeing a large number of police vehicles and ambulances as well as one person strapped to a stretcher.
