DUBAI // A number of taxis in Dubai have been fitted with a device that is designed to reduce the number of rear end collisions with other motorists.
Ammar Al Buraiki, acting director of fleet operations at Dubai Taxi Corporation said the devices are attached at the rear of the vehicles and connected with the brake system.
When a vehicle approaches the taxi from behind, a sensor causes lights to flash intermittently to give the incoming driver a warning to slow down.
Mr Al Buraki said the device will help in reducing potential accidents.
