DUBAI // More than 500 motorists have taken part in a programme that offers basic first aid and CPR training.
Safer Driver was launched last month by the Dubai Taxi Corporation division of the Roads and Transport Authority, in coordination with Al Hilal Private Nursing and Medical Services Company.
Last month’s sessions, the first phase, were held at the Drivers Training and Qualification Centre. A wide range of topics were covered.
“The programmes also highlight which procedures ought to be adopted at various times at homes or during traffic accidents, and how to handle various types of injuries, wounds and burns as well as poisoning, bleeding, trauma, and cardiac resuscitation sustained by various individuals, be it juniors or seniors,” said Atta Habeeb, director of operations at Al Hilal.
