The Dubai Road and Transport Authority has begun a major construction project in the emirate.
The RTA awarded the contract for the development of Umm Shief and Latifa bint Hamdan streets from the second interchange in Safa to the Manara Interchange on Sheikh Zayed road for an estimated cost of Dh482m. The project is expected to be completed during the first quarter of 2018.
Mattar Al Tayer, chairman of the board and executive director of RTA said: “This is part of a larger project to develop the road network in the Emirate to accommodate the increasing number of motorists. The project is part of a strategic plan to develop public transport, and to provide a comprehensive and safe land and sea transport network to respond to increasing needs and to foster investment and development in Dubai”.
