DUBAI // Three people were injured when a driver swerved across seven lanes of traffic on a busy city artery, police have said.
The Asian driver of a pickup truck was on Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Road when the incident occurred at 3.30pm on Tuesday.
Dubai Police said he swerved from the far right of the motorway to the extreme left and crashed into another vehicle, causing minor injuries to three people in the process.
The pickup truck hit an Infiniti, which was driven by an Egyptian man.
More than 40 people were killed last year in crashes caused by drivers sudden swerving, Dubai Police figures showed.
Of the 2,633 road accidents police recorded last year, 641 crashes and 41 deaths were the result of motorists changing lanes without warning.
