Driver dies after crashing into two camels in RAK



RAS AL KHAIMAH // A young Emirati man died after running into two camels on the road, police have said.

The 20-year-old was driving on an internal road in Ras Al Khaimah when he spotted the animals too late, rammed into them before his vehicle swerved and crashed on the other side of the road, Colonel Ali Al Alkeem, director of the Traffic and Patrols Department at RAK Police said.

The director said the young man died from his injuries before he made it to hospital and the two camels died too.

The man’s body was delivered to his family for burial.

Colonel Al Alkeem expressed his deepest condolences and sympathy to the man’s family and urged all motorists to abide by speed limits on all roads, to be cautious and careful and to refrain from engaging in any activity that may deviate their attention while driving, for their own safety and for that of other road users.
