A motorist was arrested after a man was killed in a hit-and-run incident in Dubai. Police said the driver failed to stop after hitting the victim at high speed on the Dubai-Al Ain Road. The deceased got out of his car after it broke down on the hard shoulder. The incident was reported to police at 1.30am on Thursday. Police said the victim was Arab, but did not disclose his nationality. “In less than 24 hours, the European motorist was arrested and admitted running over the man,” said Brig Abdullah Sorour, director of Bur Dubai Police Station. “He said he fled the scene of the accident because he was very scared.” The driver was charged with causing wrongful death and fleeing the scene of an accident.
